On September 11, 2009, Math Kangaroo in USA received an AWARD of EXCELLENCE for promoting mathematical skills from Maria Pappas, Treasurer, Cook County, IL. Maria Omelanczuk accepted the award on behalf of Math Kangaroo organization. Cook County is the second most populous county in USA. Chicago belongs to it. 42 organizations representing several ethnic groups were awarded by the Cook County Treasurer in Chicago on September 11, 2009.
